Pageant Winners Crowned During Springfest

The sixth annual Miss Springfest Youth Pageant was held Thursday (May 10th) at the St. Johnsville High School auditorium as part of the Springfest weekend festivities. Contestants from across the Mohawk Valley were judged on personality, stage presence and appearance while modeling dressy attire and being interviewed on stage in front of an audience.

I know I talk a lot about this community’s sense of togetherness, but I often just can’t help myself. I have to revel in it, as I’m lucky to be in a position where I’m immersed in it every day, with every event I cover.
It’s nice to live in a place where people have your back.

Police Report - 05/18/2012

Ilion Police

On May 11, 2012 at 1:03 a.m., Ilion Police arrested Guy E. Pirllo, 21 of 747 N. Jay St., Rome for driving while intoxicated. Pirllo was issued traffic tickets for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than .08 percent and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Prillo was released to a third party on his uniform traffic tickets and is due to appear in the village of Ilion court at a later date. The town of Frankfort Police assisted with the arrest.
